On October 3-4, General Director Ilya Shulkin and Deputy General Director Denis Bolkhovskikh visited the International Forum of Special Economic Zones - 2024, which was held on the basis of the special economic zone of technology-innovative type “Dubna”.
The forum was attended by more than 500 participants from 15 countries and 53 special and free economic zones, both Russian and international. For example, the forum was attended by government and business representatives from Ethiopia, Nigeria, UAE, China, Egypt, Malaysia, Republic of Belarus, Turkey, Iran, Republic of South Africa, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The event was organized by: the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, the Government of the Moscow region, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow region, the Special Economic Zone of technology-innovative type “Dubna”.
On the agenda of the forum were the following issues: discussion of ESG principles implementation in the activities of infrastructure sites, exchange of experience and discussion of new initiatives and practices in the field of sustainable development principles implementation in the activities of infrastructure sites, direct dialog with representatives of public authorities, including discussion of necessary legislative initiatives.
During the forum there were held 7 panel sessions, 3 round tables, an international congress of free economic zones, a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, which was attended by representatives of state and regional authorities, special and free economic zones and business.
One of the key events of the forum was a speech by Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In his speech, he spoke about the fact that special economic zones continue to be one of the key tools for the development of territories, attracting investment in priority industries, creating points of economic growth, and forming entire industry clusters. The International SEZ Forum, which is being held for the second year in a row, is becoming an important platform for discussion of development prospects and interaction between domestic and foreign SEZs by management teams of such investment sites, manufacturing companies and investors.
Ekaterina Zinovieva, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region - Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region, emphasized in her speech that the task of managing companies of special economic zones and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region is to select the right support measures that will help each specific manufacturer to successfully operate in the territory with a preferential regime.
